Microsoft Edge is little known in the world of web surfing. But for those of you who use the Microsoft suite of apps there are some hidden benefits you were not aware of.
Here are 5 Reasons To Use Edge –
- Synchronise the app with your existing Microsoft account to share your browsing favourites, history, passwords, browser data, and settings between your PCs, smartphones, and tablets.
- Ask Cortana to look up words for you. With other browsers, you have to copy and paste search terms into a new window. In Edge, select the text, right-click, and choose Ask Cortana. A panel appears at the right with your definition.
- Reading View is accessible from a book icon next to the address bar removes all auto play videos and ads in articles. You still see photos, but none of the unnecessary garbage. You can choose different styles to customize your Reading view. Personally, I like a black background, but you can also choose white or beige.
- One Tap Sharing with the curved up-arrow icon in the top right side of the browser window border. Send the page you’re viewing to email, Facebook, Twitter, Messenger, or any app that accepts URLs.
- Fastest Speed performance on the market. Many will be surprised to learn that Edge outperforms Chrome, even on Google’s own browser benchmark, Octane 2.0. If faster browsing is important this might be the browser for you.
